Margin stores note content locally in the user's Chrome profile. The extension does not transmit note content, browsing history, or clipboard contents to a remote server.

Data Stored

• Note Content: Note text, code, format, and timestamps are stored in IndexedDB under the extension origin.
• Extension Preferences: Window size, position, and editor preferences are stored with chrome.storage.local.
• Session State: The current Margin window identifier is stored temporarily with chrome.storage.session.

Clipboard

Margin writes a note to the clipboard only when the user activates its Copy button. It does not read the clipboard.

Data Sharing

Margin does not sell, transfer, or share user data with third parties.

Data Deletion

Removing the extension removes access to locally stored Margin data. Users should export a JSON backup from the extension's Options page before uninstalling.

Changes

If cloud sync or another remote service is introduced, this policy and the Chrome Web Store disclosure will be updated before the feature is released.
